Chinese wedding banquets at KL hotels

KL hotels sell the Chinese wedding dinner as a set menu. We found 11 Chinese packages with a printed price at 4 hotels, 9 of them priced per table of 10. Here they are, with what each includes in the hotel’s own words.

Checked against each source on 4 October 2026

1 table = 10 guests

350 guests need 35 tables. 351 guests need 36: a part-filled table is still charged as a whole table.

Chinese packages with a printed price

Compare the unit and the line about charges before the headline number: a nett price and a “++” price aren’t the same kind of figure.

Prices that don’t name a menu

These hotels print one starting price for weddings without tying it to a tradition.

The ROM: registering your marriage

Registering the marriage, often called the ROM, is a separate step from the banquet. For non-Muslim couples it’s a JPN process. If you want the registrar to marry you at the hotel, you need JPN’s licence for a ceremony outside its office.

  • You apply at the JPN office that covers the address on your MyKad, or online. A KL hotel doesn't change that: a couple living in Selangor applies in Selangor.

  • To have the registrar solemnise your marriage at a hotel instead of a JPN office, you need JPN's licence for a ceremony outside the registrar's office: RM500 if approved, valid one month.
