How pricing works

How KL hotels price a wedding banquet

Three things decide what you actually pay: the unit the price is quoted in, what is added on top, and the minimum you pay for whether or not your guests come. Here is each one, in the hotels’ own words, then a calculator for your own quote.

Checked against each source on 4 October 2026

1. Per table of 10, or per person

All 5 hotels we found printing a wedding price quote it per table of 10. 2 of them also print a dinner price per person.

The same hotel can use both: Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences and EQ Kuala Lumpur price some spaces per table and others per person. Compare like with like before you compare the numbers.

A table is charged whole. If your guest list doesn’t divide by 10, the last table is still a full table.

1 table = 10 guests

350 guests need 35 tables. 351 guests need 36: a part-filled table is still charged as a whole table.

2. What “++”, “+” and “nett” add

The mark beside a price is shorthand, and hotels don’t use it the same way. What counts is the hotel’s own line about service charge and tax. These are every one we found, word for word:

  • Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur

    • “++”: “Price is subject to a 10% service charge and 8% government tax.”
  • InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

    • “nett”: “*All prices are inclusive of prevailing taxes.”
  • PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur

    • “+”: “Prices quoted are exclusive of 8% Sales & Service Tax and any prevailing Government Tax.”
  • Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences

    • no mark: “All prices quoted are subject to an additional of 8% service tax.”
    • “nett”: “The wedding package price quoted are inclusive of 8% service tax.”
  • EQ Kuala Lumpur

    • “+”: “Rate quoted is in Ringgit Malaysia and subject to prevailing government taxes.”

None of these lines says whether tax is charged on the price alone or on the price plus the service charge. That changes your total, so ask the hotel, then set it in the calculator below.

A guide to the marks, not a rule. Hotels word their charges differently, so every price on this site comes with the hotel’s own words.

3. The minimum you pay for

A minimum number of tables or guests is billed even if fewer people come. These are the minimums the hotels print, word for word.

No minimum printed in the documents we read: PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur. That doesn’t mean there is none, so ask.

Work out your own total

Type in the figures from your hotel’s quote. The calculator rounds tables up, applies any minimum, and adds the charges the way your quote says.

The starting numbers are an example, not any hotel’s price. Type in the figures from your own quote.

Questions to ask before you sign

Common questions

Do KL hotels price weddings per table or per person?

Mostly per table of 10. Of the 5 hotels on this site that print a wedding price, 5 print per-table prices and 2 also print a per-person dinner price (Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences, EQ Kuala Lumpur).

What does ++ mean on a KL wedding package?

It means charges are added on top of the printed price. Hotels word this differently, so read each hotel's own line about service charge and tax; this page quotes every one we found.

Do I pay for a minimum number of tables even if fewer guests come?

Where a hotel prints a minimum, yes: a minimum number of tables or guests is billed whether or not you fill it. This page lists every minimum the hotels print, in their own words.
